Direct Stoves - Stove Fitting Kits* What's included in the fitting kit
1. Black stove pipe.
2. A registration plate is used to seal the chimney opening off from the room preventing dust, soot, dirt and debris falling down the chimney. It also helps to prevent a draft coming down the chimney. We supply a standard 800mm x 400mm galvanised steel register plate with all our stoves. You will simply need to cut the plate to size to fit into your chimney opening.
3. We also provide you with a single stove glove that you can use for stoking the fire and adding wood without the risk of personal injury.
*Only available for wood, multifuel and gas stoves. Excluded for the following which do not need these items: inset stoves, electric stoves, flueless and balanced flue gas stoves and outdoor & garden products. Optional Extras.
Carbon Monoxide Detector:
Due to an update to Building Regulations it is now law to have a Carbon Monoxide alarm present in any room with a solid fuel appliance:- The Building Regulations 2000 Approved Document J (2010 Edition) '2.34 Where a new or replacement fixed solid fuel appliance is installed in the dwelling, a carbon monoxide alarm should be provided in the room where the appliance is located.'
Flue Liner Packs:
The flue liner pack consists of; a flue adaptor, which connects the stove pipe to the flexible flue liner, Dura Flue flexible flue liner (this will have a relevant diameter to the outlet size of the stove and 316 Grade) cut to the required length and a pot hanger rain cap, this supports the flue liner from the top of the chimney and also acts as a bird guard and rain cap.
Stove Pipe with Door:
A stove pipe with door or access point, allows the chimney to be swept through the pipe itself.
Firewood Starter Bundle
Our Firewood Starter Bundle contains all you need for your first fire in your new stove. 1 box of kiln dried logs with a moisture content of less than 20% and Woodsure Ready to Burn certified. This is UK sourced wood from sustainable forestry. The wood is pine. 1 bag of kindling and a pack of 20 natural wood eco firelighters.
Please make the relevant selection above when placing your order if you require any of these parts and also select whether or not you require a Carbon Monoxide alarm sending out with your order. Please note that if these parts aren't selected with your order we can't send them for free after your order has been delivered.
Our "Free Delivery" is a one-man service. The goods will arrive on a lorry that is about the size of a fire engine. (Please let us know in advance if you have restricted access or other local issues that could affect delivery).
The lorry has a tail lift that allows the driver to get the item(s) off the vehicle. The order will be packed and secured onto a pallet and the driver will have a pallet truck. He'll be able to wheel this as close as possible to your property. The pallet truck can only be wheeled over a finished surface so it's not possible to wheel it over a gravelled drive, steps, steep slopes for example. The pallets are normally about 1m wide so this is the minimum width gate they can fit through. Please note that the driver is not insured to unpack or carry the item(s) into your house.
Fitting Kits and Liner Packs might arrive separately by courier delivery on the same day unless specified/requested in advance. An email confirmation will be sent if this is the case.
If the goods are showing 48hr delivery, then this is the quickest time we're able to deliver these items (We do not deliver at weekends). You'll be asked to select a delivery date when purchasing the goods. Please note that if you live offshore these dates do not apply as it will take us slightly longer to get the goods to you and we will contact you directly.
Please note that it is an all-day delivery service which is generally from 9 am – 6 pm Monday to Friday. Delivery Depots, if they have the facility, will text in advance but as the vans do multiple runs a day you might not receive a text until the afternoon if this service is available.
Due to current pallet network pressures mainly due to driver shortages we cannot guarantee delivery on your chosen day but will do our best to communicate this as soon as we are made aware by the carriers.
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE STRONGLY ADVISE THAT YOU DO NOT BOOK ANY CONTRACTORS, PLUMBER’S, OR FITTERS UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED YOUR GOODS AS UNEXPECTED DELAYS CAN OCCUR.
I have a salt fire st1. Manual references emptying the ash pan, but I can’t find the ash pan and there is not an internal grate to empty into the ash pan. Please advise if it has an ash pan and if so where it is? Thanks.
Question by: Deb on 20 Nov 2022, 17:29
Hi,
Thank you for your enquiry.
This stove is a wood burning stove only and they do not have an ashpan.
It is recommended you keep a bed of ash inside the stove to help the fuel burn better.

Hello. When we moved into our property a few years ago there was already a wood burning stove installed. We are now thinking of swapping it for something more eco friendly such as the Saltfire ST1. Can you tell me if this type of stove would be suitable and safe in a thatched house? Thanks!
Question by: Tracey Hughes on 17 Feb 2021, 15:47
Hi Tracey, thank you for getting in touch. As long as it is installed properly, any stove will be safe.
The best thing to do is have the flue and chimney inspected if it hasn't been for a while or have a qualified tradesperson asses the situation. As long as the flue system is all functioning correctly and the correct clearances to combustibles are met, you will be ok.
If you are interested, we have more eco friendly stoves here -
Can Saltfire ST1 Wood Burning Stove be freestanding and installed on a external wall without a chimney
Question by: Keith on 21 Jan 2021, 14:22
Hi Keith, you would need a chimney of any sort for any wood burning stove. I hope this helps.
Answer by: Henry Lewis on 25 Jan 2021, 13:39
Hi, can you help me understanding fitting requirements please. I want to put a small stove inside my existing fireplace opening which is 20 inches wide but I'm not sure how much space there needs to be either side of the stove. There are notes about distance to combustables, but presumably my fireplace walls wouldn't be considered combustable? How wide a stove could a 20 inch fireplace fit please?
Question by: becky horn on 7 Jan 2021, 12:09
Hi Becky, thank you very much for getting in touch with us. As long as your fireplace is non combustible (which of course we imagine it would be) then you can allow around 100mm on either side. As your 20 inch wide fireplace equates to 508mm, that would give you around 300mm to play with in terms of stove width. This product is 305 mm wide, and could be suitable for your needs.
