The Saltfire Peanut 8 is the larger version of the popular Peanut 5, designed to bring warmth, style and a striking flame picture to larger rooms. With its generous 8kW heat output as a wood or multifuel stove, it is well suited to keeping bigger living spaces comfortably warm while adding a beautiful focal point to the room.
One of the standout features of the Peanut 8 is its large viewing window, which helps create a captivating ambience in even more spacious interiors. Combined with a powerful airwash system, the glass stays crystal clear for an uninterrupted view of the flames.
With its simple yet elegant styling, the Peanut 8 is a versatile choice for a wide range of interiors. Its understated design works equally well in contemporary spaces and more traditional home settings, making it a practical and attractive addition to the home.
This model can also be used with a bioethanol fuel insert tray, which gives a typical heat output of 1-1.5kW. This makes it ideal as a background heat source or for enjoying a real flame aesthetic when you do not require the higher heat of a woodburner. It is particularly suited to spring and summer evenings, or for winter use in rooms where there is already a primary heat source, such as central heating.
The Peanut 8 can be installed as a normal wood or multifuel stove with an appropriate flue system, allowing it to be used for solid fuel or bioethanol. Alternatively, it can be installed free-standing without a chimney or flue if you intend to use only the bioethanol option.
The bioethanol burner tray is designed for flexibility and ease of use. It can be lifted in and out of the stove without any tools, and when removed it can also be used outside the stove, for example on a patio during summer evenings. With the tray removed, the Peanut 8 becomes the standard wood stove and can be used with wood, subject to a suitable chimney connection.
In addition to its flexibility, the Peanut 8 also offers strong environmental credentials. It has a heat efficiency rating of 80%, a clearSkies rating of 5, is EcoDesign compliant, and is DEFRA-approved for use in smoke control areas.
Bioethanol also offers a number of practical benefits. As a biofuel, it is considered carbon-neutral because the carbon dioxide released during burning is absorbed by plants during their growth. The liquid fuel is easy and clean to store, and while its heat output is noticeably lower than a solid fuel appliance, it still provides useful background warmth along with the attraction and cosiness of a real flame fire.
