Mendip Stoves have announced a new commitment to support The Woodland Trust. For every Mendip stove sold during 2015 the parent company Eurostove will donate £10 to the woodland Trust.
The Woodland Trust works in Britain to protect ancient woods, restore those which are damaged, fight for woods under threat and to create new native woodlands. They look after various woods and groups of woods covering 190 square kilometres (73 sq miles) of the British Isles and have created over 250 community woods in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Over the last 40 years they have planted more than 23 million native trees and are currently undertaking a vast restoration program to bring 9,600 hectares of damaged ancient woodland back to life.
The £10 from each Mendip Stove is enough to plant 3 native trees that helps to restore ancient woodland and protect wildlife.
Chris Baines from Eurostove said “Eurostove is delighted to be working with the Woodland Trust, helping the charity to plant hundreds of trees. We have a huge commitment to being a sustainable business which includes encouraging our customers to use wood from sustainable sources to power our stoves. We see the Woodland Trust as being the perfect fit and are delighted that our support will see the planting and protection of trees across the UK.”
