Charnwoods Silver Success

Every Charnwood has a Silver Lining! Or at least a silver award for best heating product in the House Beautiful Awards 2014. Wow, I mean we all know Charnwood are a brand with heritage, quality and outstanding craftsmanship, but this award just goes to show they also have style, elegance and practicality.

The awards ceremony which by all accounts was quite a star studded affair, took place at the London Science Museum in November 2014. The prize categories were split into various sections, such as Best Furniture, Best Garden Product, Best Heating Product etc, each was then shortlisted and the two Gold and Silver Winners announced.

(One celebrity winner definitely worth a mention would have to be the one and only Mr Nick Knowles who scooped the prize for “Favourite Home-Related Celebrity. Well done Nick!).

So how did Charnwood fair, well they certainly had to beat off some stiff competition:

  • 7400 Stove Series – Morso

As you can see this was no walk in the park for Charnwod to get the coveted Silver Award, and you can imagine their delight when they found out. Attending the awards Ceremony was Charnwood director Ced Wells, who was presented the award by legend and Eco Designer Oliver Heath. Commenting on the accolade Ced Wells remarked:

Beating off stiff competition from a number of other top international brands, we are honoured that, as a true British made stove, The Charnwood Bay 5 was crowned one of the winners in our category. The Bay was launched in 2013 and was designed using a combination of the best features of past and present stoves. The look was quite different from our other ranges of stoves, but when we launched the bay it was very well received and quickly established itself as one of our best selling appliances. House Beautiful is one of the leading leading homes magazines in the country and their annual awards are highly respected in the world of interior design and so we are thrilled to receive such an accolade from this leading institution”. Ced Wells (Charnwood Director).

This is a fantastic story, and one we’re very proud of, it just goes to show that their heritage played a role in the design while their craftsmanship played a role in the detail. Based on the Isle of wight, all Charnwood Stoves are 100% British designed and made!
