It also helps to prevent a draft coming down the chimney. We supply a standard 800mm x 400mm galvanised steel register plate with all our stoves. You will simply need to cut the plate to size to fit into your chimney opening.
    • 3. We also provide you with a single stove glove that you can use for stoking the fire and adding wood without the risk of personal injury.

*Only available for wood, multifuel and gas stoves. Excluded for the following which do not need these items: inset stoves, electric stoves, flueless and balanced flue gas stoves and outdoor & garden products.

    Optional Extras.
    Carbon Monoxide Detector:

Due to an update to Building Regulations it is now law to have a Carbon Monoxide alarm present in any room with a solid fuel appliance:- The Building Regulations 2000 Approved Document J (2010 Edition) '2.34 Where a new or replacement fixed solid fuel appliance is installed in the dwelling, a carbon monoxide alarm should be provided in the room where the appliance is located.'

    Flue Liner Packs:
The flue liner pack consists of; a flue adaptor, which connects the stove pipe to the flexible flue liner, Dura Flue flexible flue liner (this will have a relevant diameter to the outlet size of the stove and 316 Grade) cut to the required length and a pot hanger rain cap, this supports the flue liner from the top of the chimney and also acts as a bird guard and rain cap.

    Stove Pipe with Door:
A stove pipe with door or access point, allows the chimney to be swept through the pipe itself.

  • Delivery Info

Free 1 Man Delivery – For Full Details Please See Delivery Information

Our "Free Delivery" is a one-man service. The goods will arrive on a lorry that is about the size of a fire engine. (Please let us know in advance if you have restricted access or other local issues that could affect delivery).

The lorry has a tail lift that allows the driver to get the item(s) off the vehicle. The order will be packed and secured onto a pallet and the driver will have a pallet truck. He'll be able to wheel this as close as possible to your property. The pallet truck can only be wheeled over a finished surface so it's not possible to wheel it over a gravelled drive, steps, steep slopes for example. The pallets are normally about 1m wide so this is the minimum width gate they can fit through. Please note that the driver is not insured to unpack or carry the item(s) into your house.

Fitting Kits and Liner Packs might arrive separately by courier delivery on the same day unless specified/requested in advance. An email confirmation will be sent if this is the case.

If the goods are showing 48hr delivery, then this is the quickest time we're able to deliver these items (We do not deliver at weekends). You'll be asked to select a delivery date when purchasing the goods. Please note that if you live offshore these dates do not apply as it will take us slightly longer to get the goods to you and we will contact you directly.

Please note that it is an all-day delivery service which is generally from 9 am – 6 pm Monday to Friday. Delivery Depots, if they have the facility, will text in advance but as the vans do multiple runs a day you might not receive a text until the afternoon if this service is available.

Due to current pallet network pressures mainly due to driver shortages we cannot guarantee delivery on your chosen day but will do our best to communicate this as soon as we are made aware by the carriers.

Two Man Delivery (£75 now £30)
For Full Details Please See Delivery Information

As the name suggests with our two-man delivery service the goods will be delivered by two men. They will carry your stove into the room of your choice (subject to any changes due to covid restrictions).

They will normally carry it up 1 flight of stairs (if it's safe to do so) but this is at their discretion so if you have a 3rd floor flat, please inform us beforehand to avoid any issues during delivery.

The two-man delivery normally takes 5-10 working days to be delivered once we receive the stock into our own warehouse, but this timescale can be dependent on where you live. We expect the lead time to extend during busier periods/later months of the year. Once the goods come into stock you will be contacted, and delivery arranged.

Please contact us directly if you wish to take advantage of our 2-man service.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE STRONGLY ADVISE THAT YOU DO NOT BOOK ANY CONTRACTORS, PLUMBER’S, OR FITTERS UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED YOUR GOODS AS UNEXPECTED DELAYS CAN OCCUR.

  • FAQs
Hi, directly underneath my hearth is a poured concrete base over 300mm deep and this is over 300mm out in front of the stove. Can I fit a 12mm hearth and all will be ok?
Also if no combustibles nearby what clearance does this stove need at the sides and rear?
    Regards Andy
Question by: Andy on 6 Nov 2025, 19:16
    Hi Andy,

If the constructional hearth (concrete base) extends 300mm in front of the stove and is 300mm thick then this should be fine, as long as a superimposed non-combustible hearth is then positioned on top. See the link below for further information:

    https://www.directstoves.com/our-blog/wood-burning-stove-hearth-buying-guide/

Because the Arundel 5kw is listed as unsuitable for a 12mm thick hearth, we would have to recommend a thicker approx. 50mm hearth on top of the concrete. The risk otherwise is that the heat from the stove may cause a thinner 12mm hearth to crack over time.

These stoves will be more suitable for a 12mm superimposed hearth:

    https://www.directstoves.com/stoves/multi-fuel-stoves.html?output_filter=4.1%20to%205kW&suitable_for_12mm_hearth=Yes

The installation manual for the Arundel advises that "a minimum of 50mm clearance to non-combustible materials is required at each side of the stove for access for servicing and maintenance". This said, we would normally recommend at least 150mm either side and atop the stove from non-combustibles (and 50mm behind) to aid with convection.

Hi, would this stove be suitable to have a wood fire surround, and if so what would be the recommended measurements for the surround?
    Question by: Rosemary Hayden-Smith on 31 Oct 2025, 21:35
    Hi Rosemary,

We do not recommend installation of a wood burning or multifuel stove with a wooden surround,

If installed in the vicinity of a combustible beam or surround, the Arundel 5kw stove requires a minumum of Distance to Combustibles - Sides: 375mm and Distance to Combustibles - Rear: 350mm.

To abide by document J regulations, combustible material should also be 3 x the diameter of the stove pipe away from the pipe at any given point.

If in doubt, we would always recommend speaking to a HETAS-registered installer

What size is the hearth in that picture ..it looks less than 300m in front of stove
Question by: Craig Findlay on 9 Aug 2025, 12:35
    Hi Craig,

The main image on the Arundel stove page is a promotional image supplied by the manufacturer. They haven't given any sizes for the hearth, chamber, etc. that are displayed, as these are only supposed to be representative.

The manufacturer for the Arundel states that the hearth should extend a minimum at least 300mm in front of the stove, which (as you'll be aware) is to comply with Document J regulations.

For reference, a standard sized front hearth is approx. 15 inches (381mm) deep.

We hope that this information helps

Hi we’ve bought this stove and are having it installed mid January. On the glass and in the instructions it states to only
Use kindling for twenty hours but increase the fuel and temp after the first 3 small fires. Yet it doesn’t say how long each fire should be. Is this down to the owner to guess or are the first three just kindling with a few bits then increased with a 1/4 log then half etc up to the 20 hours? Hope this makes sense.
Question by: Rob Green on 1 Jan 2024, 21:21
    Hi,

    Thank you for your enquiry.

The first 3 burns should be kindling only. Then you can increase the fuel yes correct.

Question by: Shelley on 26 Jul 2023, 08:19
Hi, thank you for your enquiry the Portway Arundel has not been passed to be installed on a 12mm hearth by the manufacturer due to heat transference under the stove.

What type lights are being used in picture? Are they special heat resistant ones? Do you stock them?
Question by: Jonny on 9 Jun 2023, 12:17
Hi thank you for your enquiry, the lights are LED spotlights which are readily available from most high street retailers, as long as they are verified and installed by a qualified electrician you should be able to achieve this look. Hope this helps?

I've purchased this stove but on the top air vent there's a grub screw stopping the vent from fully shutting. Does this need to be removed. Thanks
Question by: Nick green on 27 Apr 2023, 19:32
    Hi,

    Thank you for your enquiry.

This is part the Defra Kit. If you live in a smoke controlled zone, this should be left as it is.

If you remove it, it will void the warrenty.

    Hope this helps
