You will simply need to cut the plate to size to fit into your chimney opening.

Optional Extras.

Carbon Monoxide Detector:

Due to an update to Building Regulations it is now law to have a Carbon Monoxide alarm present in any room with a solid fuel appliance:- The Building Regulations 2000 Approved Document J (2010 Edition) '2.34 Where a new or replacement fixed solid fuel appliance is installed in the dwelling, a carbon monoxide alarm should be provided in the room where the appliance is located.'

Flue Liner Packs:

The flue liner pack consists of a flue adaptor which connects the stove pipe to the flexible flue liner, Dura Flue flexible flue liner (this is 6" in diameter and 316 Grade) cut to the required length and a 6" pot hanger rain cap this supports the flue liner from the top of the chimney and also acts as a bird guard and rain cap.

Stove Pipe with Door:

A stove pipe with door or access point, allows the chimney to be swept through the pipe itself.

Please make the relevant selection above when placing your order if you require any of these parts and also select whether or not you require a Carbon Monoxide alarm sending out with your order. Please note that if these parts aren't selected with your order we can't send them for free after your order has been delivered.

Free Delivery

If the goods are showing 24hr or 48hr delivery then this is the quickest time we're able to deliver these items. When you're going through the checkout process you'll be asked to select a delivery date. The goods will be delivered on this day.

It's an all day delivery but we do request that the driver calls one hour before he's due to arrive. The goods will arrive on a lorry that is about the size of a fire engine, so if you have restricted access please let us know in advance.

The lorry will have a tail lift that allows the driver to get the stove off the vehicle, the stove will be packed on a pallet and the driver will have a pallet truck. He'll be able wheel the pallet (stove) as close as possible to your property, if you have a garage he'll be able to wheel it into there for you.

The pallet truck can only be wheeled over a finished surface so it's not possible to wheel it over a gravelled drive nor is it possible to wheel up or down steps.

The pallets are normally about a 1m wide so this is the minimum width gate they can fit through.  Please note that the driver is not insured to unpack or carry the stove into your house.

Two Man Delivery

As the name suggests with our two man delivery service the goods will be delivered by two men. They will carry your stove into the room of your choice.

They will normally carry it up 1 flight of stairs (if it's safe to do so) but this is at their discretion so if you have a 3rd floor flat please inform us before hand to avoid any issues during delivery.

The two man delivery normally take 5 - 10 working days to be delivered from dispatch. Once the goods come into stock you will be contacted and delivery arranged.

Is there a wood burning kit available as with the Firefox 8? If not what do I do to burn wood only? Thanks
A:
Hi Richard,
thank you for your question.
The Firefox 5 Cleanburn stove is suitable for wood or multifuels (smokeless coals).
The riddling grate has a 'closed' position for burning wood and an 'open' position for burning other solid fuels.
It is primarily designed for burning wood in smoke control areas and no additional internal parts are needed in order to burn wood.
Hope this helps?

What thickness hearth is required on this as I have a timber floor
A:
Hi Simon,
Thank you for your Question.
The Firefox 5 Cleanburn installation and user manual states:
The hearth on which the stove is to be placed should not be less than 125mm thick if the floor is made of combustible material, and care should be taken to level the stove and secure the hearth.
Hope this helps?

Hello, can this burner sit on a slate hearth?
A:
Hi Angela,
Thank you for your question.
The Firefox 5 Cleanburn is not suitable for a 12mm hearth made of glass or slate as the under stove temperatures could exceed 100°C.
This stove can be fitted in a fireplace on a slabbed hearth which is built from 4 pieces of stone bonded together so the separate pieces allow the hearth to expand and contract so that it doesn't crack under high temperatures.
If you have more questions please feel free to call our experts on 0845 450 8351.
Hope this helps?

what length logs fit the firefox 5 cb, and is the width definately 405mm?
A:
Thank you for your question.

The width of the stove at it's feet is 405mm wide. The width of the door opening is 260mm so I would say that a log length around 220-230mm would be easy to load in.

Many Thanks

Is there s stand that it can stand on to lift it up higher, preferably one that wood can be stacked in?
A:
Hi Mick,
Thank you for your question.
Yes there is a stand available for the Firefox 5 Cleanburn stove, I've added it to the options on the page, and added an image of the Europa logstand with a similar stove to the product page.
Hope this helps?

What are the certificate laws on these wood burning stoves
A:
Hi Christine,
Thanks for your question.
If you are asking about DEFRA certification:
This allows the user to burn wood safely in a Smoke Control Area. Wood is not an authorised fuel for use in a Smoke Control Area, but may be burned in a tested DEFRA approved appliance.

If you are asking about CE certification:
The CE marking is required for many products. It shows that the manufacturer has checked that these products meet EU safety, health or environmental requirements, is an indicator of a product’s compliance with EU legislation and allows the free movement of products within the European market.

Hope this helps?

Hi Can you advise what the heat is through the bottom of stove as I would like to know if it is suitable for a marble hearth (on concrete)? Thanks
A:
Hi Charlotte,
Thank you for your question.
The Firefox 5 Cleanburn stove is not suitable for a 12mm decorative hearth, so it has an under stove temperature that could exceed 100°C.
You could have a marble hearth underneath this stove, as long as it is a "Slabbed" hearth. This is one that is specially made to cope with high temperatures.
Most hearth manufacturers recommend granite rather than marble for stove hearths as the natural properties of granite are much more suited to the high temperatures involved.
If you absolutely MUST have a marble hearth you need to look at stoves that can be used with a 12mm hearth, we have a wide selection here - https://www.directstoves.com/stoves/defra-stoves.html?suitable_for_12mm_hearth=680
hope this helps?

Hi Can the flue liner be swept through the stove or does it require a flue pipe with an opening. Regards Rob
A:
Hi Rob,
Thank you for your question.
The Firefox 5 Cleanburn Stove has a removable baffle plate so it is possible to sweep through the stove.
However that doesn't mean it's easy to do, we would almost always recommend a pipe with an access door, your sweep will love you for it!
Hope this helps?

What size flue liner does this stove require?
A:
Hi Ian,
Thanks for your question.
The Firefox 5 Cleanburn stove requires a 5 inch (125mm) flue liner if you are exclusively burning wood in a smoke control area.

If you are going to burn both wood and smokeless fuel you will need a 6 inch (150mm) flue liner.

Hope this helps?

What clearances are required at the back and the sides of the stove?
A:
Hi Helen,
Thanks for your question.
The distances to combustibles of the Firefox 5 Cleanburn stove are:
Sides: 450mm
Rear: 400mm
Combustibles includes furniture, wallpaper, curtains etc.
If you are siting the stove in a chambered fireplace these distances can be reduced as the chamber is not combustible.
Hope this helps?

Is this allowed in outer London,LB Hillingdon?
A:
Hi Lucy,
Thank you for your question.
The Firefox Cleanburn Wood and Multifuel stove is approved by Defra for use in Smoke Control Areas.
Hillingdon is a smoke control area, When using this stove you should always follow the manufacturers instructions and advice about fuels. You should have the stove fitted by a competent, qualified Hetas fitter who can sign off the project and give you all the correct paperwork to supply to your local authority.
Your local council has a page on it's website dedicated to what you can and cannot burn. https://www.hillingdon.gov.uk/article/17403/Smoke-from-domestic-and-commercial-chimneys
hope this helps?
