What clearance do you need for stove in chimney breast please?

Hi Lorraine,
Thank you for your question.
Within a non-combustible fireplace opening we recommend a distance of approx 150mm around a stove. This allows a sufficient airflow to heat the room effectively and gives enough room for cleaning and maintenance.
We class brick, stone, concrete and fireboard as non-combustible, If the opening has been plastered then it is combustible and the distances should be greater.
