What you’ll need for an internal twin wall insulated flue system

This will really depend on the situation that the stove is been installed into.

We can certainly help you design the right flue system that is right for your situation. We are happy to offer a free design service to help design the right flue system. All you need to do is email or fax a drawing of your room and our experts will design you a flue system and get back to you with a breakdown of all the relevant parts and prices this is a no obligation service we offer.

A basic install would require the following: (this is just to give you an idea of what is required and may not be the same as the system you require to fit your stove)
1 - Stove
2 - Vitreous Enamel Flue Pipe (*see notes)
3 - Single skin to twin wall insulated flue adaptor (**see notes)
4 - Twin wall insulated flue
5 - Ventilated Firestop (These must be installed where the flue passes through a ceiling into another living space)
6 - Wall Bracket (These are required every 2m to help support the flue system)
7 - Ceiling Support
8 - Roof Support
9 - Flashing + Storm Collar
10 - Rain cap (if the overall length of the flue system is less than 4m then we advise that you use a aspirating cowl to guarantee a draw)

Notes: * If you are using single skin flue out of the stove then you will need to ensure that the distance to a combustible material is three times greater than the diameter of the flue pipe.

** If you are using single skin directly from the stove then going into twin wall insulated you will need to make sure that the single skin going into the twin wall insulated at least 6" (150mm) before the ceiling. If you decide to come straight out of the stove in twin wall insulated flue then you will need to have the adaptor coming off the flue spigot on the stove.

Two important guides that you must follow when working out the height to take the flue are:
a) If the flue is coming out near to the ridge or a gabble end then you need to make sure that the pipe clears the ridge by at least 600mm.
b) if the flue is coming out through the roof in an area away from the ridge or lower down the roof then the flue must be at least 2.3m horizontally away from the nearest point on roof line.

This guide is only designed to give you a guide to installing a stove and flue system. It is not recommend that you attempt this on your own and always consult a professional HETAS installer.
