Installing a stove in an existing unlined chimney
Whilst this is the easiest situation of installing a stove we do not always recommend this type of installation due to the build up of tar deposits on the brick work of the chimney and the risk of the chimney leaking.
If you do want to install a stove in a chimney that isn’t lined then we strongly recommend that you get the chimney tested first by a qualified HETAS Engineer.
If you are fitting a stove in an unlined chimney then you’ll need the following parts:
1 – Stove
2 – Vitreous Enamel Flue Pipe
3 – Register Plate – This is a 1.5mm sheet of galvanised steel that closers the chimney off from the room and must be fitted so that it is airtight.
This guide is only designed to give you a guide to installing a stove and flue system. It is not recommend that you attempt this on your own and always consult a professional HETAS installer.
